Simonas Bartkus is the Chief Marketing Officer of ch-aviation, an airline
intelligence provider serving airlines and industry suppliers from the
aircraft finance, MRO, IT and airport industries. Prior to joining ch-aviation
Simonas served as Marketing Department Director for Small Planet
Airlines, Chief Commercial Officer for Lithuanian start-up carrier Air
Lituanica and also Vilnius International Airport.
Melina Rauch
Melina Rauch, born 1970, is an Aviation Psychologist, certified by the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP). She acquired her Diploma in Psychology from the University of Marburg, Germany, and worked at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Aviation and Space Psychology (Hamburg), from 1995 until 2009. There she specialized on the development and application of tools and methods for the selection of cockpit crew, including fixed wing and rotary wing crew, ab initio and experienced pilots. In 2010 she founded MOLLYMAWK psychometrics. The internet-based tools that she has developed for this platform offer the psychometrically reliable and valid assessment of some of the important predictors of job success of pilots. What makes this system unique is the fact that test takers become owners of their test results which gives them the opportunity to share them with a multitude of operators – similar to acquiring and sharing a language certificate. This reduces costs at various points and for all parties involved. A growing number of public MOLLYMAWK test centers in Europe and Turkey further help reduce unneccessarily long and costly trips. Until today nearly five thousand profiles have been created by test takers aged 19 to 62. The age-specific norming method and integrated preparation modules ensure a fair, reliable, and valid assessment that enjoys a high degree of acceptance among both, test takers and airlines. Throughout her career Melina has cooperated with a large variety of flight operators as well as training organisations in Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East, helping them establish or improve procedures for the reliable and cost-effective identification of suitable candidates.
Espen Høiby
Espen Høiby (born 1959) is a former airline captain for SAS and the founder and CEO of
OSM Aviation. With an MBA from IMD in Switzerland, an Airline Transport Pilot license and
more than 40 years of People-passion, entrepreneurship and aviation experience, Espen has

brought forth infinite turnaround management, business development, and executive expe-
rience from major airlines and aviation training centers under his role as CEO. Other quali-
ty aspects include vast industry leadership in the introduction of innovative and disruptive

business models and technological developments to the commercial airline industry.

In less than six years, Espen has expanded OSM Aviation’s growth from 0 to 6000 employ-
ees, operating in over 19 countries worldwide. As part of this success, OSM Aviation has

been recognized as a leading aviation management company, specialized in the employment,
training and administration of air crew and technical personnel worldwide.

Stein Mjaatveit
Stein Mjaatveit has been flying since 2007 and has over 10 years of instructional and educational experience. He holds EASA and FAA certifications and has taught hundreds of commercial pilots from a variety of cultures and from all corners of the world. Today he works as the Director of Marketing for OSM Aviation Academy, bridging the gap between their global network of aviation academies and a successful pilot career for their graduates.

Frode Granlund
Frode Granlund is the CEO and founder of Pilot Flight Academy (PFA) in Norway.
PFA was founded in 2007 and is one of Europe’s leading flight academies with 400 students from more than 15 countries.
PFA has ordered 10 electric aircraft and are planning to offer a Zero emission MPL pilot education program from 2021.
Granlund has a background as a commercial seaplane pilot and is also a collector and pilot of some warbirds.

Sustainability in aviation is a hot topic politically but is eminent important to attract the next generation of pilots.
“If the industry doesn’t implement new zero emission technology as soon as it is available, we will not be attractive to recruit the best suited candidates to our industry”.

Enzo Zangrilli
Enzo Zangrilli was born in Mirano (near Venice, Italy) on the 7th of May 1970.
After graduating from Venice classical lyceum and carrying out commercial law studies at the University of Bologna, he has worked in a number of countries for over a decade in the contracting and technical tendering management arena for large multinational companies, such as the Pilkington group, IMERYS and ABB.
In the Aviation Industry, Enzo has covered a moltitude of roles as Senior Executive for easyJet, Alitalia, Menzies Aviation, Aviapartner and private aviation companies in the Middle East, being responsible for contracts, procurement of airport services and addressing the economic regulation in both Airlines and Airports alike.

After working for Trieste Airport as Commercial Director for the Aviation and non Aviation Development, Enzo has opened an International Aviation consultancy company working for Airport, Airlines and Ground Handlers.

Julian Carr
Julian Carr is Aviation Director of Manchester Airport, where he oversees all air service development and airline management activities. Manchester Airport is part of MAG, and is the UK’s 3rd busiest airport with over 29 million passengers per year, 60+ airlines, and over 220 destinations.

Prior to this, he was Commercial Director of East Midlands and Bournemouth Airports (also part of MAG), whilst additionally holding responsibility for all cargo activity across the MAG Group. Before entering the airport business, Julian was a senior executive on the airline side of the table, having held positions as Managing Director of three airlines; bmibaby, My TravelLite, and most recently Stobart Air. He also has international experience having been Head of Marketing and New Product development for IATA based out of their Montreal office, where he also worked on a variety of airline consultancy projects around the globe.

Prior to entering the airline industry Julian had 10 years of management experience within the entertainment industry, working with both Virgin and Blockbuster. He also had a period as Chief
Executive of Showcase Cinemas UK business in more recent years, during a sabbatical from the aviation business.

He holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, is a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport, and is also a qualified private pilot.

Artūras Liudkevičius

Artūras Liudkevičius is the CEO of Aviatic MRO, a brand new aircraft maintenance centre which is currently under construction at Šiauliai International Airport in Lithuania.

Experience from numerous previous roles in the MRO business positions him well to lead Aviatic MRO in its ambitious mission to become the leading aircraft hub in the region. Colleagues say Artūras is an excellent leader, a visionary who always looks for non-standard solutions.

David Huttner

Commercial Aviation Practice Leader at PA Nyras

David Huttner was the founding Head of Commercial for Virgin Blue Australia where he managed the growth strategy domestically and throughout the South Pacific. As one of three founding members of the airline’s top leadership, he helped guide the company to become the most successful IPO in Virgin Group history.

His global career spans more than 20 years and covers all areas of the aviation industry from sales and distribution through to product delivery and airline restructuring. Following his decade with the Virgin Group, David was appointed to the board of Vueling at the time of its IPO, and he has since advised some of the world’s leading airlines, airport and industry partners.

David provides leadership on a range of projects for PA Nyras directly relating to strategy, commercial services. Areas of focus include low cost carrier strategies and competitive response, capacity management and slots, as well as airport and airline commercial advisory. He has manged a number of projects focused on slot and capacity maximisation across North America, Europe, the Gulf, Asia and Australia.
